Democratic Primary Election Results - Some Encouraging Results and Some Significant Disappointments

We are encouraged that many of the candidates endorsed by HarrisCountyDemocrats.com prevailed in the March 2022 Democratic primary. That said, we were disappointed that some of our incumbent Harris County Democrats, such as County Treasurer Dylan Osborne, Criminal District Judge Amy Martin, and Family District Judge Barbara Stalder lost their bids for re-election. Of course, one of the most disappointing results was County Judge Lina Hidalgo's victory over Precinct One Constables Office Chief Erica Davis. Judge Hidalgo's contract "bid-rigging" corruption scandal, poor judgment, weak record on public safety, and general incompetence (see links below) lead us to believe that Judge Hidalgo will be a significant liability to local Democrats in the upcoming general election. In the coming months, we will comment more on the upcoming November races for elected office.

In the meantime, we encourage Democrats to vote in the upcoming Democratic primary run-off races. Early voting will be from 5/16/22 to 5/20/22, with election day being Tuesday, 5/24/22. Again, we urge voters to support the candidates listed on our endorsement page.
